Through the proposal, an idea of hybridised space for developement of two types of human knowledge – the skills and the wisdom, learnable through the language, is brought to life. Main building is proposed as an essential facility for Brno technological community, which is set to a symbiosis with technical library, where the books become more of a cullis, a scenery, than a main point of gaining information. Everything takes place on the same physical and virtual data platform. Architectonical solution is based on the principles of double staircase, which allows to coexist two separated functions, as well as they can be connected when needed, for example during events as workshops, lectures and so on. A centre of share knowledge is made.

Tram Network for New Brno City Masterplan

This master thesis deals with the planning of routes and their operating parameters for the tram network in the new Brno city masterplan. The work evaluates operational and capital expenses that are bound up with running and further expanding of the tram system. The numbers of inhabitants and jobs included in 300-meter zones around tram stops were assessed. The calculated values are compared with the current situation. Based on the results, a suitable composition of the vehicle fleet and the order in which new tracks should be constructed is recommended. Further measures are proposed to improve coverage of city territories by the tram system, especially construction of tram ways to other densely populated areas of Brno and the organization of selected transfer points

Kontrolní systém základních technických požadavků pro výrobu u mikro a malých podniků dřevařského průmyslu

The purpose of this dissertation is to examine the issue of a job position as part of the working environment. It defines basic requirements and is based on the current view of the role of man who is the focal point for creating the working environment in manufacturing industries. The dissertation also deals with closely related occupational health and safety. As it primarily concentrates on the wood processing industry, the assessment of the working environment also examines the issues of fire safety and the ubiquitous wood dust. The purpose of the dissertation is also to create a control system for wood processing companies. The suggested control questionnaire follows its theoretical basis in the presented overview. The practical usability of the questionnaire is subsequently tested in an existing wood processing company. Major faults in areas under review can be identified by the evaluation of the questionnaire survey. On the basis of an evaluation of the current situation, practical measures for every category are suggested in a discussion; the employer can implement the measures to improve occupational health and safety of its employees.

Analyzing the Kystone XL debate

This bachelor thesis examines the media debate over the possible construction of Keystone XL pipeline. In 2008 the Canadian company TransCanada submitted an application for presidential permit to construct the pipeline. Such permit was needed as the pipeline would be crossing the U.S. international border. In 2015 President Obama decided not to issue the permit. This thesis examines how was this topic debated in the two prestigious US newspapers The Washington Post and The New York Times. The research methodology that was chosen for this paper is content analysis. Unit of content is an article from abovementioned newspapers published between 2008 and 2015 that had the headword "Keystone XL" in its headline. The thesis relies on framing theory. It aims to identify the frames that dominated the debate and their main storylines. In its first part the paper defines the methodology and its theoretical framework; the second part examines the results of the content analysis and afterwards deals in depth with each of the frames. The three dominant frames were "environmental frame", "energy security frame" and "economic frame". Each frame is put into the broader context of the academic research dealing with the same topic.

Unemployment of women in the district of Český Krumlov

The aim of this thesis is to analyse and describe the labour market in terms of unemployment of women in the district of Český Krumlov. The thesis includes a description of unemployment and labour market in general. It also includes a characterization of gender policy and gender issues and stereotypes that often lead to lower employment of women. One of the objectives is to find out what affects this gender segregation the most and what are the specific problems in getting employment for women in the district of Český Krumlov. The thesis also includes analysation of risk factors and their impact on the employment of women - age, education, maternity leave and next factor is the Czech Republic's accession to the Schengen area in 2007. The analysis is based on available data mainly from the Labour Office in Český Krumlov. A particular attention is given to enter of the women to the labour market after maternity or parental leave and analysis of the application of graduates. Based on conducted analysis, data are compared with data from 2006 to 2015 and final part is based on analysis of specific trends in this lapse of time.

The analysis of the labour market in the selected region

The aim of the thesis called The analysis of the labour market in the selected region
is a description and evaluation of the situation on the labour market, employment and unemployment in the Šluknov foothills. The theoretical part explains the concept of the labour market, basic characteristics and labour supply and demand. Furthermore, the theoretical part defines the employment, unemployment and describes the types and measuring of the unemployment, risk groups of the unemployed, active employment policy and the active employment policy instruments. The practical part characterizes the Šluknov foothills with the description of the individual municipalities located within this area. The practical part also describes the current situation of the labour market. On the basis of the questionnaire survey is the situation of the local labour market, the attitudes, feelings and the experiences of unemployed persons of over 50 years of age that are registered at the labour office for a long time charted.

Analysis of the impact of investment incentive at labour market at example of company XYZ, s.r.o.

The aim of the diploma thesis is to verify whether investment incentives are causing expected effect at job market of Czech Republic. The analysis is performed on the basis of data from the agency CzechInvest, the Czech Statistical Office, General Finance Directorate and Public register and Collection of documents. The analysis of approved investment projects showed that 99 % of companies were interested in the tax credit, 36 % of companies were interested in donation for training and retraining, 33 % of companies were interested in for creation of new jobs and in other variants of incentives firms were interested less than in 5 %. From comparison of estimated cumulative amount of the tax credit from investment projects with real tax relief based from tax returns was calculated that for the period 1999 - 2012 has been utilized only 26 % of cumulative expected tax deductions. Difficulties associated with the using of the tax credit are examined in the analysis of financial statements, where was analyzed company XYZ Ltd. and 11 other companies which were supported by investment incentives. The conclusion based at financial statement analysis explains that 45 % of analyzed companies had to face complications with using of investment incentives, which were mainly due to loss of income. Following the high interest of companies in a tax credit there is criticized the current definition of the law, where there is insufficient connection between amount of tax credit and creation of new jobs.

Human Resources and Employment

The goal of bachelor´s work is to describe the situation regarding the human resources in the county Prachatice and evaluate this problem from the employment office´s point of view. The basic problem is to utilize effectively the labour force related to free human resources, mainly registered in the employment office. In the bachelor´s work it is particularly pursued the comparison and the utilization of these free human resources. The bachelor´s work is divided into two main parts. The first part is theoretical and its intent is to explain the important notions regarding the employment. The attention is particulary pursued to the risk groups on labor market. The second part is practical and it is directed to the analysis of situations connected with employment and human resources in the county Prachatice. This part is strongly statistical in order to achieve a good transparency.In this part there is the connection with the theoretical part through the risk groups of the unemployed. At the end of practical part there are some suggestions regarding the utilization of human resources and the support of the employment rate. The result of this work is the maping of human resources development in the county Prachatice. There is also mention the further possible solutions of these problems on regional and state level. The state should behave as the guarantor of the state policy and by way of employment office conducts this policy.
